Upcoming Events: Progressive Retreat

The spiritual life is never lived in isolation.  Jesus came to this earth as the ideal role model for the spiritual life.  One of the major lessons he taught was not to try and go it alone!  The spiritual life requires support.  Community is the place where the Holy Spirit dwells.  Faith thrives with in a spiritual family.  Jesus was aware of the vital importance of sharing ministry. So please share yours by joining us.

So I hope that you all will consider sharing your energy and time with us as we embark on an unusual idea of a Progressive Retreat.  The CED department and Tammy White and I, Beth, will embark on a 25-hour retreat with our Jr. and Sr. Highers - but ASKING YOU ALL TO BE A PART OF THE JOURNEY at certain times, hence the term "progressive."

Here is how it works - The Jr. and Sr. Highers will be meeting on Friday night at 5:00 pm and will work on a group of issues surrounding the Holy Week.  Our journey with the students that evening culminates in a midnight communion of candles in the sanctuary.  The next morning we add . . .

Parents of Jr, and Sr. Highers - 8:00 AM for breakfast and fellowship.  Parents will continue with their group and their kids for a half-day retreat on spirituality and again the focus on the Passion Week.  That afternoon around 3:00 PM we add . . . .

All congregational members of any age, old or young -- We will be presenting a fabulous presentation on "Know your Spirituality Type."  This highly interactive seminar is a take on the Meyers Briggs Personality Test but with a twist.  You will be interacting with all generations and having some fun and laughs as you start to see how we all work together in the name of God.  Following this we will be serving a dinner to all and then a very important presentation to the church by the parents and the senior highers on "Who were the Twelve?"  I hope you put this on your calendars and join us.  We will ask you to RSVP to the church - to Bev -- so we have a good head count!
